THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Higher Education Minister R Bindu has said that the act of forcing girl students to remove their undergarments ahead of the NEET examination in Ayoor in Kollam was condemnable.
"It was an irresponsible action. This is a huge error on the part of the agency appointed to conduct the exam. The mental trauma caused by this to the children taking the exam is sure to affect the exam. The state government will convey its displeasure regarding the incident to the central ministry in writing," the minister said.
The Human Rights Commission has asked for a report within 15 days on the complaint that the student was forced to remove her underwear. The commission has registered a case in the incident. The incident took place in a college in Ayoor. Following the incident, the father of one of the students filed a complaint with the Kottarakkara DySP. However, the college authorities said they are not aware of it and an agency entrusted by the NEET team was in charge of checking girls appearing for the exam.
