IDUKKI: The water level at the Mullaperiyar dam has reached 135.90 feet. With the water level nearing 136 feet, the sub-committee, appointed by the Mullaperiyar monitoring committee to evaluate the situation, will inspect the dam on Tuesday.
The committee, chaired by Central Water Commission (CWC) executive engineer, comprises of two members each from Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The committee will assess the functionality of the shutters and the water level in the dam.
The details regarding the inspection will be submitted to the monitoring committee. Meantime, a control room has been opened at the Manjumala village office. Those residing at the Periyar coast should remain vigilant, warned the authorities.
