KOLLAM: Police have arrested five women employees in connection with the incident in which girl students who came to attend NEET exams were forced to remove their undergarments before the exam. Two people from the Ayur Marthoma Institute of Information and Technology and three people from the examination agency were taken into custody. The police are currently questioning them.

After receiving the complaint of the girls, the investigation team reached the college early in the morning and conducted an investigation. Upon checking the CCTV footage, they found that the female staff had forced the girls to remove their undergarments. The Women's Commission members also arrived at the college. The Commission has registered a suo moto case regarding the incident. Earlier, Kerala Human Rights Commission and Youth Commission had also registered cases on the same issue.

Meanwhile, more girls have come up with complaints about the incident. So far, five girls have lodged complaints with the Kottarakkara DySP.

NTA forms Fact Finding Committee
National Testing Agency (NTA) has formed a Fact Finding Committee to visit Marthoma college in Ayur where a student was asked to remove her innerwear before appearing for the NEET exam.

It has been brought to the notice of the Ministry of Education through various media reports that an incident allegedly happened in one of the centres of NEET (UG)- 2022 near Kollam district in Kerala. NTA has already issued a clarification in this regard. The NTA formed the committee as per the direction of the Union Ministry of Education.
