THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The court has granted bail to Congress leader KS Sabarinathan in the case over alleged conspiracy behind the in-flight protest against the Chief Minister. Thiruvananthapuram Principal Sessions Court granted bail to Sabarinathan with conditions. Sabarinathan has been asked to furnish a deposit of Rs 50,000 in court. The court also asked him to produce his mobile phone and appear before the investigating officer on July 20, 21 and 22.

Meanwhile, CPM and DYFI workers staged a huge protest outside the Vanchiyoor court after Sabarinathan was granted bail. There is a possibility of a clash in the area as there is a large group of Congress workers are also present in the area. Although the police demanded that Sabarinathan be kept in custody, the court decided to grant him bail. The police told the court that Sabrinathan had given instructions to the first accused Farzeen Majeed and that he had called the accused several times over the phone.


However, Sabarinathan told the court that he was willing to hand over the phone to the officials at any time. He added that he would have given the phone to the investigating officer if the officer had asked him.
