THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A woman and her daughter sustained burn injuries after acid was splashed on them. The two identified as Bindu and daughter Ajesha are natives of Panniyod in Kattakada. Police said a boundary dispute is the cause of the attack.


The incident happened midnight. The statement received by the police said their neighbours-a woman, her son and daughter-in-law jointly attacked them. They are now under the surveillance of the police. The police explained that the attack happened when the construction of the wall was in progress at the place after the revenue officials came and measured it. DySP is in charge of the investigation. The police said the three will be interrogated soon and will be arrested today.

They were attacked with the acid used to coat rubber. The injured mother and daughter are undergoing treatment at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital. The police said the daughter sustained serious burns on her hands and face.
