MANGALURU: In a horrific incident, four people were killed after an ambulance carrying a patient lost control and crashed into a toll booth. One person was seriously injured. The accident took place at the Byndoor-Shiroor toll gate in Udupi district of Karnataka. The video footage of the incident is circulating on social media.
The CCTV footage shows the ambulance arriving at the toll booth at high speed with the patient and two others. The toll booth employees can be seen hurrying to remove the traffic barricades to let the ambulance pass through the booth without delay. However, the ambulance suddenly turned and skidded and then crashed into the booth.
The three people in the ambulance and the employee who was removing the barricade died on the spot. The ambulance driver sustained serious injuries.
