PATHANAMTHITTA: Prominent people from various walks of the society paid their respects to NSS former president advocate P N Narendranathan Nair, who passed away, last Tuesday. The body was brought to his residence on a mourning journey after being placed for the public to pay their respects at NSS Pathanamthitta Taluk Union Office from 9 am, last day.
Eminent people from religious, social and political fields visited his office and residence to offer condolences. Many including, NSS president Dr M Sasikumar, Minister Roshy Augustine, chief whip Dr N Jayaraj, former opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala, MLAs K U Jenish Kumar, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, Pramod Narayanan, K B Ganesh Kumar, devaswom board president K Ananthagopan, former Mizoram Governor Kummanam Rajasekharan, Malankara catholic church Thiruvalla diocese president Thomas Mar Koorilos, BJP state president K Surendran, CPM state committee member P Jayarajan, Janapaksham leader P C George, Vishva Hindu Parishad state general secretary V R Rajasekharan, Cherukolpuzha Hindumatha Parishad president P S Nair, KSFE former chairman Peelipose Thomas, paid their respects.
The meeting between K Surendran and P Jayarajan was an evidence that political objections need not blur personal relationships. On seeing Surendran, Jayarajan raised his hand and greeted him. Following which, Surendran went towards Jayarajan and shook hands with him.
The mortal remains of Narendranathan Nair was cremated at his house in Vettipram, Pathanamthitta. His grandson Krishnan Haribal lit the pyre.
