2. In 2009, her son Laxman Murmu died under mysterious circumstances. Her husband Shyam Charan Murmu died of a heart attack in 2014.
3. In 2012, her second son died in a car accident.
4. Murmu's daughter Itishree Murmu is working in a bank. Itishree is married to rugby player Ganesh Hembram.
5. Before starting her political career, Draupadi Murmu worked as a teacher at the Sri Aurobindo Integral Education and Research Center in Rairangpur, Odisha.
