Simplicity
After the NDA announced Murmu as their presidential candidate, the Union Home Ministry had granted her Z Plus security of CRPF commandos. The next day Murmu reached the temple near the house early in the morning and swept the ground before offering prayers. Seeing this, the commandos and the media were shocked. Even as they gathered around to capture these visuals, she continued doing her routine work without paying attention to them.
Unexpected undercurrents
Even when the presidential election was announced, the BJP had a clear decision on who should be the candidate. But they did not release any hint about it. Instead they tried to create news about a joint candidature. For this purpose, they met the leaders of the opposition parties several times. It is true that the slight drop in vote value worried BJP. To overcome this, they cleverly made moves. The situation was that the BJP and its allies could secure only 48.45 percent of the total vote value of the Electoral College. In order to ensure the victory of their candidate, they needed to secure 1.56 percent or more of the votes. For this, BJP wanted to create a feeling that they were rooting for a joint candidature. Then the opposition announced Yashwant Sinha as their candidate. The truth was that many in the opposition was not in favour of choosing Yashwant. When it became clear that things were favourable to them, the BJP announced Murmu's candidature. The opposition became really shocked.
Many prominent parties in the opposition could not reject Murmu, who had many plus points such as being a tribal, woman and so on. Many parties in the Opposition like Biju Janata Dal were forced to support Murmu. This is what BJP had expected. The unity of the opposition was broken . Many have publicly announced that they will vote for Murmu. There was also cross voting during the polls. The BJP's proper strategy is behind the victory of Draupadi Murmu.
