HONG KONG: An An, the oldest male panda under human care has died leaving all animal lovers in tears. He was 35-years old which is equivalent to 105 years of human life. An An, an inmate of Hong Kong amusement park, had health problems. She had eaten little food for several weeks. An An has been under the protection of Ocean Park, a marine and wildlife centre since 1999. Generally Pandas like to live in caves. But he was different, befriended and became close friends with the locals and tourists. An An died due to high blood pressure, which is common in adult pandas.

Jia Jia, the world's oldest female panda, passed away in 2016 at the age of 38. Ocean Park expressed condolences on An An's death.
