THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A mother and child, who went missing on Tuesday, were found within hours due to the timely intervention of the control room staff of KSRTC Thampanoor Central Depot. A 22-year-old woman and a 45-day-old baby, who went missing from Kodungallur on Tuesday evening, were found and safely handed over to the police within five and a half hours of receiving the information.
The police, which received information that the mother and child were in the KSRTC bus going from Vyttila hub to Alappuzha, soon contacted the Transport control room and passed the information. Conductors Smitha S, Mithun Raj, Johnson P Joseph and Rashmi RS Nair, who were on duty, immediately intervened.
Later, it was found that the woman and child were seen in RSC 600 superfast bus which left Parasala for Thrissur at 3.30 am. At 8.15 am, the mother and baby were handed over to Alappuzha South CI at Alappuzha General Hospital Junction.
