KOZHIKODE: The Nav Sankalp Chintan Shivir, organized by KPCC to increase the strength of the Congress in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, will be held in Kozhikode today and tomorrow. KPCC President K Sudhakaran will hoist the flag at Aspin Courtyards near the beach (K Karunakaran Nagar) at 9.30 am. AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal MP will inaugurate at 10 am.

AICC general secretary in charge of Kerala Tariq Anwar, opposition leader VD Satheesan, Congress working committee member and AICC general secretary Oommen Chandy, Madhya Pradesh former chief minister and working committee regular guest Digvijay Singh, former opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala, AICC Secretary Vishwanatha Perumal will speak at the event.

The aim is to give new direction and energy to the Congress movement in Kerala. The event follows a similar exercise held at the national level in Udaipur, Rajasthan in May. There will be significant interventions to strengthen the Congress. Timely and radical reforms and providing equal opportunities regardless of caste, religion and gender will be discussed.

191 delegates including MPs, MLAs, KPCC office-bearers, executive members, DCC presidents, state presidents of feeder organizations and national leaders will participate in the event. Five committees prepare the discussion topics of Chintan Shivir. The leaders have been divided into five groups, comprising around 40 members in each group. A cultural gathering was held yesterday ahead of the Chintan Shivir.
