THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The person who cross-voted in the presidential polls is an insult to Kerala, said CPI leader Pannyan Raveendran. NDA’s candidate Draupadi Murmu has received only one vote from Kerala. But, it is dangerous, he said.

The person who cross-voted will become irrelevant in Kerala politics, said Raveendran. “I don’t believe that any of the LDF parties would have done it. The one who casted the vote has shown political indecency, he said while talking to a private channel.

In Kerala, 140 MLAs had declared their support for opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha, but one unexpectedly voted for Draupadi Murmu. This is the first time in the history of Kerala that such an event of cross-voting has occurred in the presidential polls.
