THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Education Minister V Sivankutty has sought a report into the incident in which some Class V students, who came to use a urinal, were harassed and threatened by senior students. The incident took place in Cotton Hill School Girls Higher Secondary School, Thiruvananthapuram, last Thursday.
As the students who carried out the attack have not been identified, the police will conduct an identification parade at the school, on Monday. After seeking treatment, one of the girls, who was attacked, had lodged a complaint with the police. The girl’s parents also shared a note on social media in the regard.
According to the complaint, some girls of Class X had threatened and harassed the girls of Class V and VI who came to the urinal of the school. The girls were threatened that if they did not comply, then they would cut their wrists, take them to the top of the school building and push them down. The assailants have not been identified yet as they wore masks and did not wear uniforms. Following the incident, the authorities have organized a counselling session for the students tomorrow to ease their minds.
According to parents, similar complaints of senior students threatening young students, who goes to the urinal at the new block, were made before as well. However, the school authorities said that no such complaints have been received so far.
