KOLKATA: Reports suggest that West Bengal Minister Partha Chatterjee dialed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee three times after his arrest in the SSC recruitment scam. As per Chatterjee’s arrest memo, Mamata Banerjee did not pick up his calls.

Chatterjee was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the teacher recruitment scam, on Saturday. Following which, he had called the chief minister via phone. If someone is taken into custody, then they have the right to inform a relative or a friend. On the occasion, Chatterjee had dialed the chief minister.

The arrest was recorded at 1:55 am on Saturday. Following which, Chatterjee called Banerjee at 2:33 am. As she did not pick up the call, the minister called her again at 3:37 am and 9:35 am. However, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has denied the claims mentioned in the ED’s arrest memo.
