NEW DELHI: Four Congress MPs were suspended on Monday after they carried placards while protesting in the Lok Sabha. Action has been taken against Ramya Haridas, Manickam Tagore, Jothimani and T N Prathapa.
The Congress MPs have been suspended for the rest of the monsoon session of the parliament. The Lok Sabha was adjourned due to the protests. The MPs demanded discussion on the matters of GST and price hike.
The opposition had demanded the same in the last four sessions. However, the speaker did not approve of the demand to discuss the issues outside the house. Following which, the MPs carried placards and protested inside the house.
