NEW DELHI: Another person suspected of suffering from monkeypox has been admitted to the hospital. He is undergoing treatment at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital in Delhi. The patient has high fever and skin lesions. The results of his samples are being awaited. At present, four people have been confirmed with monkeypox in the country. One is from Delhi and the other three patients are from Kerala.
Three days ago, a person was diagnosed with monkeypox in Delhi. The 34-year-old man, who had not traveled abroad, started showing symptoms when he returned from Manali. This patient is also undergoing treatment at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital. So hospital doctors were also given special training to deal with infections.
Many states have taken preventive measures in the face of increasing incidence of monkeypox. The Ministry of Health has announced that surveillance will be intensified for those coming from countries where monkeypox is prevalent.
