murder

SULLIA: The Karnataka police have traced the Kerala connection of the two Popular Front activists who were arrested in connection with the murder of a Yuva Morcha activist in Sullia. Popular Front activists Zakir (29) and Muhammad Sharif (27) were arrested from Bellara near the Kerala border.

They were the ones who did the main planning for the murder. The police have not released more details of the arrested persons, but 15 people who are SDPI and Popular Front workers have been taken into custody and are being interrogated in the case. Yuva Morcha leader Praveen Nettaraiah was killed by armed men on a Kerala registration bike. The bike has been taken into custody by the Karnataka police. The Karnataka Police has extended its investigation to Kasaragod and Kannur.

Praveen Nettar, who was killed, had posted in social media in support of Kanhaiya Lal. The BJP is alleging that the murder is a revenge for this. Five days ago, Masood (19), hailing from Kasaragod, was killed in Mangaluru. The police are also investigating whether it was a revenge murder.
