THRISSUR: "My kids need Rs 10,000 per month for treatment expense and husband has kidney disease. All I have is my house and 8 cents of land. Although we have Rs 12 lakh deposit, we struggled a lot to get Rs 10,000 from the bank.", says Rani of Thengoliparambil, a depositor and another victim of Karuvannur bank fraud.

"We have 28-year twin sons with congenital cerebral palsy. I had deposited money in Karuvannur bank ten years ago for their further treatment. Due to my continuous request, the bank gave Rs 20,000 in two installments. We begged a lot to get our money back. I visit the bank almost everyday. I am tired of hearing their usual replies. The treatment of my sons are being delayed. To whom do we share our suffering?", asked Joseph, Rani's husband. 68-year old Joseph deposited all his life savings from 35-year expat life in the bank.

A year have passed since the news about Karvunnur bank fraud has come out. The investment of about 10,000 depositors were looted by some members of the left governing body and officials. Bank officials and representatives have repeatedly claimed that action has been taken to return the money, but no other details have been disclosed. The efforts to save debt-ridden bank also became futile.

Many depositors responded after the death of Philomina, another victim of bank fraud, on Wednesday. She was not given money from the bank for further treatment.
