THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress has embarked on an action plan as part of strengthening its relationship with the public to ensure a comeback in the assembly elections after four years.

The party has decided to immediately enter the field of palliative care according to the action plan approved by the Nav Sankalp Chintan Shivir organised in Kozhikode.

Special forces will be set up for this purpose centred on the Congress unit committees. The move of Congress also follows the steps taken by the CPM and BJP to become active in palliative programs.

There is a realization in the UDF that the CPM's close interactions with the people at the grassroots level, during the last flood and during the Covid period, was a reason for the continuation of the rule of the Left Front.

There has also been a proposal to put forward projects in the future manifesto emphasizing welfare schemes on the pattern of the LDF. Important among these is the formation of a permanent board for the welfare pension system. This board should also propose pension hikes from time to time.
