ALAPPUZHA: A controversy has erupted after authorities of Pulinkunnu Taluk Hospital came up with a Facebook post seeking applications for various posts, including doctors, for free services. The post came up on the Facebook page of the Alappuzha District Information Officer. Several people have raised criticism against the post.
The Alappuzha District Information Officer's Facebook page is filled with questions such as if there is enough money for the chief minister to change his vehicle frequently, why can't the authorities provide salaries to hospital employees. One person went on to ask why the government, which is eager to increase the salaries of ministers and MLAs, cannot appoint doctors for the poor by giving salary. The recruitment is for the posts of Doctors, Lab technicians, Pharmacists and Data Entry operators. Employees have to work without salary for a period of six months. However, this job offer did not go down well with the netizens.
At the same time, the hospital superintendent is of the opinion that the intention was to appoint employees as part of improving services including evening OP and that no one was being forced to apply for the posts.
