PALAKKAD: A youth killed his elder brother by hitting him with a stick on his head for playing loud music on his mobile phone. The incident happened at Koppam in Palakkad. The dead has been identified as Sanwar Sabu (40) of Kulukkallur Mulayankavu Trithala. The Koppam police have taken Sabu’s brother Zakir into custody.

The incident happened Monday evening at 4 pm. There was an argument between Sabu and Zakir for playing the music loudly on the phone. Following that, the younger one hit his brother with a log. Sabu, who was seriously injured was first taken to a private hospital in Perinthalmanna and later to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. Sabu, who was under treatment died Tuesday morning at 5 am. After completing the proceedings, the body will be handed over to his relatives.
