KOCHI: Kochi native Faseela's journey came to standstill due to lack of funds after completing halfway of National Bike Racing Championship. Faseela was leading in Chikkamangaluru, Mangaluru and Coimbatore rounds. If she comes first in Bengaluru, Nasik and Pune rounds, she will be the national champion. But Faseela has no money to participate in the competition and can achieve this with the help of others. The fourth round is on next Sunday. The last two rounds are in October and December.
On October 31, 2021 Kerala Kaumudi had published an article about Faseela's life. Faseela is the first woman from Kerala to get an off-road license from the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India. She is also a zumba and yoga instructor.She earns money through this and by working in racing bike workshops. But during Covid all her earnings stopped.
She participated in three rounds by borrowing money. Entry fee for each round is Rs 5,000. Another Rs 50,000 is needed as bike expense per round. Bike needs to be repaired in each round. Faseela uses 2013 Model Hero Impulse bike and it costs thousands per repair. She has bagged several achievements in national racing before also.
'The next round is just days away. I'm concerned that I may have to withdraw from the championship', said Faseela.
