THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health Minister Veena George said that the health department will formulate a comprehensive protocol in connection with organ donation. The protocol will be updated and made comprehensive for the practical implementation of organ donation. The minister said that organ donation while alive and organ donation after death will be brought under this protocol.

The Minister said that explicit norms would be brought in organ deployment, surgery and follow-up treatment. Everyone's responsibility will be determined and ensured. The committee formed in this regard should ensure this. The minister also directed to ensure follow-up treatment even after the organ transplant surgery. The minister said this in a meeting of medical colleges convened to strengthen organ donation.
