PALAKKAD: A wild elephant was spotted at Valladi near Kanjikode in Palakkad. Efforts are being made to send the tusker, which has been roaming in populated areas, back to the forest. The elephant reached the area by early morning on Friday.

The locals tried making sounds to scare away the elephant back to the forest, but to no avail. Following which, forest officials arrived at the spot and efforts are underway. A wild elephant had entered the area and destroyed the crops, last day too. The same elephant has come back, said the locals.
