In the wake of ongoing rains, the Indian Railways had declared the bridge unsafe. The railway authorities suspended train services between Pathankot and Jogindernagar after the collapse of the bridge. The railway is the only lifeline for hundreds of villages located in the Pong Dam Wildlife Sanctuary, which has no roads or bus services. However, there is no clarity of any casualties.
