THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Liquor shops under Vizhinjam police station limits will be closed for two days. Taking into account the possibility of conflict in the context of the protests in the area, District Collector Geromic George ordered the closure of liquor shops on August 21 and 22.
The fishermen and the Latin Archdiocese decided to continue the protest despite holding a ministerial discussion with the government yesterday. For the second day in a row, the protesters broke the lock of the Vizhinjam port and entered inside. After overturning the police barricade, the protesters reached the port gate through the service road. The strike committee has decided to continue the protest until all seven demands are accepted.
