PALAKKAD: A complaint was lodged in the court alleging that two youths, who were taken into police custody four days ago in connection with the Shahjahan murder case, are missing. The mothers of Awas (30) and Jayaraj (34), both natives of Kottekkad, lodged a complaint in the Palakkad First Class Judicial Court yesterday morning.

Following this, the court established a commission of advocates to look into the matter. The commission conducted inspections at police stations and the DySP office. In the evening, the commission gave a report to the court that it was not able to find the two. The plea will be heard again on Monday.

The police took both Awas and Jayaraj into custody from Awas's house on the evening of the 16th. The police are yet to respond. So far, eight people have been arrested in the Shahjahan murder case.
