KOZHIKODE: Congress leader K Muraleedharan MP came forward supporting the Muslim League on gender neutral issue. Muraleedharan said there is a point in what the league said and not only them, the people of Kerala also would not like that kind of sitting.

It will not be gender equality if children are made to sit together in classes. It is a reverse reform. Government schools need not go for further reforms. Muraleedharan said the safety of women should be ensured first.

Muslim League general secretary in-charge P M A Salam had the other day said that it would be dangerous if the girls and boys are made to sit together in schools. The issue of gender neutrality is not a religious issue but a moral one. Opposing the attempt to bring in liberalism. Efforts are being made to impose gender-neutral uniforms. If gender neutrality is implemented, the children would go astray. Salam said that he will request the government to withdraw it.
