MOSCOW: The daughter of Alexander Dugin, the brain behind the Ukraine invasion and popularly known as Russian President Vladimir Putin’s ‘Rasputin’, was killed in a car blast in Moscow. According to reports, the explosion was allegedly targeted at Dugin, but led to his daughter Darya Dugin’s death.

A video of Darya’s car engulfed in flames, while her father looks at the vehicle with horror, has been shared widely on social media. Alexander Dugin is a follower of far-right ideology. His daughter Darya also followed the same and was also her father’s advisor on various matters. She was included in the UK sanctions lists, released in July this year.

In 2015, the US had imposed sanctions against Dugin and cut all business ties with him. The explosion comes in the wake of the ongoing shelling around the Zaporizhzhia nuclear station, under Russian-control since March. There are also reports of heavy explosions in the pro-Russian region of Crimea. Meantime, a Russian missile has hit a residential area of a southern Ukrainian town, injuring 12 civilians.
