THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A man ended his life by hanging after his wife went home following some differences of opinion. Knowing this, his wife also committed suicide by consuming acid. Rajesh (38) of Nedumangad Uzhamalakkal Paruthikuzhi and his wife Aparna (26) are the two dead.

Aparna had gone home a week ago with their one-and-a-half-year-old daughter following some differences of opinion with him. Rajesh reached her house and asked her to return. However, she was not ready to go with him. Rajesh, who returned home, committed suicide.

Aparna who knew this tried to commit suicide by consuming acid. She was immediately rushed to Nedumangad district hospital and later shifted her to Thiruvananthapuram medical college hospital but she died Sunday afternoon at 1 pm. Both the bodies are in the mortuary. The Valiyamala police have started an investigation.
