NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has issued notice on a plea filed seeking cancellation of the anticipatory bail of the accused in the POCSO case where the mother's brother molested a 12-year-old girl in Meenangadi. The accused was granted bail by the Kerala High Court. The case was that after stripping the child, he held her on his lap, hugged and kissed her and behaved indecently. However, the High Court granted anticipatory bail by pointing out that it should be proved through the investigation that whether the uncle hugged and kissed her affectionately.

The anticipatory bail plea will be heard on September 12. According to the plea, the state government did not strongly object the granting of anticipatory bail. Justice Hemant Gupta, who led the bench that heard the case, said that the truth in some of the cases under consideration is beyond belief and the world has sex-mania. He recounted an experience when he was a High Court judge hearing a case.
