THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Isolated heavy rains are likely to lash the state today. Yellow alert has been sounded in three districts. Warning has been given to Kottayam, Idukki and Ernakulam.
Fishing has been banned on the Kerala coast following the possibility of rough seas. The Meteorological Centre has warned that monsoon will be active for the next week.
Meantime, rains are wreaking havoc in North India. The death toll has crossed 50 since last Friday. Heavy rains will continue today in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.
