PANAJI: BJP leader, former Big Boss fame and actress Sonali Phogat (41) died of a heart attack in Goa.

Phogat contested the 2019 Haryana election as a BJP candidate from Adampur. She lost to Congress leader Kuldeep Bishnoi, who recently joined the BJP after resigning as an MLA. Bishnoi met Phogat last week amid speculation she would be the BJP candidate from Adampur in bypolls.

She rose to fame through TikTok videos, made her debut as a TV anchor in 2006. Sonali joined the BJP in 2008. The actor who was a Bigg Boss contestant in 2020 had caught the attention of the audience. A video shared by Sonali on social media hours before her death is getting a lot of attention.
