THRISSUR: A wild elephant fell into a septic tank at Pothenchira in Vellikulangara. The body of the elephant was found in a septic tank abandoned in the land of a private person adjacent to the border of the forest.

The nearby residents said the disturbance of wild elephants is severe in the area. Three elephants had entered and widely damaged the standing crops in the area in the last few days. One of them is believed to have fallen into the septic tank on Monday night. The elephant was seen in the tank with its face down.

A crane and a JCB are needed to lift the body of the elephant. However, it is impossible to bring them here as there is no road here. Only after digging a road, the body can be lifted.
