THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that Kerala is likely to receive heavy rainfall in the state in the next 24 hours. Orange and yellow alerts have been sounded in various districts for the next five days.
An orange alert has been sounded today in Idukki, Ernakulam, Kannur and Kasaragod districts and tomorrow in Idukki, Thrissur, Malappuram and Kasaragod districts. Isolated places are likely to receive extremely heavy rainfall. People in low-lying areas, river banks, and hilly areas prone to landslides have been asked to remain alert.
