THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Governor has directed the Raj Bhavan to prepare a notification for the appointment of the Kerala University Vice Chancellor. The Governor who returns today from Delhi will sign the declaration. The notification will be forwarded to the search committee constituted without including the representative of the Kerala university senate. Generally, Higher education secretary issues appointment notification. But now, due to current scenario the Chancellor's secretary will issue the notification.

Following the resolution that the search committee was illegal, the Raj Bhavan had sought legal advice. The search committee will have one month to invite and evaluate applications for the appointment of VC. Meanwhile, the Raj Bhavan gave an explanation that if the Senate representative is selected, then he or she will be included in the committee.
