THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rain is likely to lash the state today. Orange alert has been issued in Idukki, Ernakulam, Kannur and Kasaragod. A possibility of isolated heavy rain has been predicted.
Yellow alert has been sounded in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad today. The Central Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of rain at isolated places in all the districts of Kerala in the next three hours.
The authorities have warned that there is a chance of isolated heavy thundershowers in the hilly areas, similar to the orange alert in the areas that have received heavy rains in the past few days.
The Central Meteorological Department has warned that there is a possibility of widespread rain in the state till August 27. Orange alert has been issued in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur tomorrow and the next day in Kottayam, Idukki, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad.
