KOCHI: The accused in the case of drowning a toddler to death in a bucket of water in a hotel room, collapsed and died on Monday night. The 50-year-old accused, P M Sipsy died at a lodge in Pallimukku, Kochi. According to the post mortem report, heart attack is the cause of death. There is nothing unnatural in the death, said the central police.
Sipsy, who arrived at the lodge with John Binoy D'Cruz, the first accused in the toddler murder case, collapsed there by night. Following which, she was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved. Sipsy’s grandchild, one-and-a-half-year-old Noha, was killed at a lodge in Kaloor, Kochi last March. According to the police’ findings, the toddler was killed by Binoy D’Cruz. As the child’s parents were abroad, it was Sipsy who took care of the baby. Both the accused, who had been remanded in the case, were later granted bail.
