THRISSUR: The arrest of the woman who murdered her mother by giving poison, will be recorded today. The victim is Rugmini (58), wife of Chandran of Kezhoor Choozhiyattil House. The police had yesterday taken her daughter Indulekha into custody in the case. She killed her mother to possess the land of 14 cents and the house.

Indulekha poisoned her mother on August 17. She had taken her mother to a private hospital in Kunnamkulam saying that she was sick. Rukmini died last Monday. Following a suspicion on her unnatural death, the doctors conducted an examination and found poison in her body.

The hospital authorities then informed the police. It was confirmed that Indulekha had poisoned her mother when questioned the inmates of the house.

Indulekha had a financial liability of lakhs. Her plan was to possess the land and sell it to clear her debts. She had fought with her mother over this earlier.

Meantime, there are reports that she had tried to kill her father also. The reports that came in said that she had given her father tea mixed with an insecticide used to kill cockroaches, but he did not drink due to the change in taste.
