TRIPRAYAR: CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran said that the left parties should not fight with each other and that the CPI as the second party on the Left front has the responsibility to strengthen the left front. He was speaking after inaugurating the CPI Thrissur district conference. Kanam's statement came in response to the criticism raised in the CPI district meetings that the party was kneeling before the CPM.
"Mistakes and shortcomings are natural in a government. All allies should share the joys and sorrows of the front. It is cheap politics to own the gains while disowning failures. Criticism should be for good. There may be differences of opinion on the front. There will be a mechanism to solve it. The CPI has been an active presence in the LDF since the 1980s. Only CPM and CPI work together at national and state levels. Since 2014, the left's influence in India has started to decline. By 2022, it was limited to Kerala only. The Left's representation in Parliament and Legislatures has decreased. BJP is trying to change the direction of the country itself. BJP remains in power by dividing the opposition. The unity of broad forces should be strengthened against them," Kanam said.
