couple

KANNUR: The industrialist couple who left Thalassery after the municipal corporation closed down the furniture factory, were brought back. The police found Rajkabeer (58), of Thazheveettil in Pannoor and his wife Sreedivya (48) from Coimbatore.

Police brought the couple to Thalassery by train at 10:30 this morning. Rajkabeer responded that he left the place as a result of action from the Thalassery Municipality. "No law has been violated. We left the place because as we were afraid of the municipality. The state government is taking a stand to encourage women entrepreneurs. But the municipality acted against this," he alleged.

Meanwhile, Minister P Rajeev informed that the closed furniture shop has been allowed to open. He told the media that the officials had reached the house yesterday with the keys and that the officials should try to help the entrepreneurs. Chairperson Jamuna Rani had earlier responded that Rajkabeer and his wife left the place in a bid to trouble the municipal council.
