THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has condemned the attack on CPM district committee office in Thiruvananthapuram. He said that the attack is part of a move to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere and have instructed the police to arrest the criminals.
"A strong public opinion should be raised against the moves to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere by attacking party offices and workers. Police have been instructed to nab the culprits and bring them to justice. People are requested not to get involved in such provocations," said the Chief Minister. The leaders who responded to the incident have also demanded the same. The CPM had accused that BJP is behind the attack.
But BJP district president V V Rajesh responded that BJP had no role in the attack. He alleged that those who threw 'pig crackers' at the AKG centre to defend the gold smuggling case were behind this and that the CPM attacked its own party office to hide the mismanagement of the leadership.
CPM district committee office in Thiruvananthapuram was attacked at around 2 am today. The gang arrived on three bikes and started pelting stones. In the attack, the windows of District Secretary Anavoor Nagappan's car, which was parked in front of the office, was damaged. AKG centre was attacked on June 30 at night. The accused have not been caught yet.
