MUMBAI: More information has come out in connection with the death of actress and BJP leader Sonali Phogat. The investigating team has found that Sonali was given Methamphetamine by the accused at a party in the restaurant before her death. The Goa Police informed this in a press release issued on Saturday evening.

"Based on the disclosure of the accused Sudhir Sangwan the drugs given to the deceased (Sonali Phogat) were seized from the washroom of the Curlies restaurant. The drugs have been identified as Metamemphatamine," Goa Police said.

Metamemphatamine, which provides arousal lasting up to 12 hours, is used by women to increase sexual desire. Methamphetamine is used by men to increase and maintain erectile function.

The use of Methamphetamine, which raises body temperature and blood pressure, can cause health issues from heart attack to stroke.

CCTV footage of the accused forcing Sonali to drink water during a party at Curlies Restaurant in North Goa has also surfaced. The police had earlier said that accused Sudhir Sagwan had mixed some obnoxious substance in the water, which caused her death.
