KOCHI: A youth was beaten to death at Nettoor in Ernakulam. The victim is Ajay Kumar (25) of Palakkad. The incident happened last night near the vegetable market in Nettoor. The accused identified as Suresh of Palakkad has been taken into custody.

Ajay is a friend of Suresh's wife. Police said this relationship is behind the murder. Suresh's wife is an employee of a private hospital in Ernakulam. Ajay arrived in Ernakulam and took a room in the hotel to meet her.

Suresh reached Kochi on the suspicion of the youth having an affair with his wife. Suresh made his wife call Ajay asking to meet him at night.

After making his wife sit in the car at night, Suresh went to the hotel room where Ajay was staying. The two engaged into an argument while talking and then hit him on his head. Though Ajay ran outside to escape from his hands, he fell down on the marked road and died.
