NETTOOR: A youth named Ajay was beaten to death at Nettoor in Ernakulam by Suresh after the former was summoned from Palakkad on the pretext of settling problems. Police said Ajay's intimacy to Suresh's wife was the reason for the murder. Suresh killed Ajay by hitting him on his head with a wheel spanner. He was attacked until his death was assured. Ajay (25) was a native of Piriyari in Palakkad. The police have arrested Suresh.

Ajay was murdered at one o'clock early Sunday morning. The wife of accused Suresh, a native of Pudusherry in Palakkad, works in a private hospital in Ernakulam. The police said Ajay was close to this woman. Suresh, who was against this, reached Kochi the other day and took a room in a hotel in Nettoor. After bringing his wife here, Ajay was summoned from Palakkad on the pretext of resolving the issues.

When Ajay reached the hotel, Suresh made his wife sit in the car. Suresh who reached his room started beating him with a wheel spanner which he kept in his hand and covered with a cloth. Suresh chased Ajay out of the hotel and beat him to death. After being informed by the locals, the police took Ajay to the hospital but he died. Suresh was taken into custody from the hotel and further action was taken after interrogation.
