NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court rejected a plea seeking not to publish the notice containing the details of applicants for marriage under the Special Marriage Act on the website. A petition submitted by a Keralite Athira R Menon stating that the notice containing the information should not be published in public places was rejected.
The petition questioned the provisions of the Special Marriage Act, including the provision to object to the marriage. The court clarified that it is not possible to interfere with the law through a public interest litigation.
