ALAPPUZHA: A youth died after being hit by a tempo van on the national highway in Alappuzha. The dead has been identified as Joel (26), son of Joy of Kodamthuruth panchayat. The accident took place near Cherthala Mathilakam Hospital on Monday morning.

Joel was on his way back from Mararikulam along with his friend Aswin. Both of them were thrown on the road due to the impact of the collision. Joel was rushed to a nearby hospital, but could not be saved. The police arrived at the spot and took further action.
