THRISSUR: Rabies death has been reported in the state yet again. The dead has been identified as Paru (60), wife of Madhavan, a resident of Chimmony Nadampadam Kallichithra tribal colony. She died on Monday evening while undergoing treatment at Thrissur Medical College.
Paru was bitten by a dog on July 8 at Anaporu in Chimmony forest, while on her way to collect forest resources. She sustained injuries on her lips and was taken to the medical college, where she said that she fell down and got injured. Ten days after getting stitches, she arrived at the dispensary and got rid of the stiches. Paru, who went to the forest ten days ago, was found foaming at the mouth the other day. She was rushed to the medical college soon and was given treatment in a special cell. She was accompanied by her son Suresh, Raman and Vasu to the forest.
