LONDONDERRY: Two boys, both aged 16 drowned after getting into difficulty in Lough Enagh, Co Derry. The boys were students of Columbus College. They are natives of Kannur and Erumeli. The boys’ mothers are nurses at Altnagelvin Hospital.

Authorities said one died on the spot and the other in hospital. Another boy has been admitted in the hospital with injuries. The incident came to light when the third boy raised an alarm.

The authorities said an investigation has started on the incident. It is suspected that one had got into trouble in the lough and another went in to help and got drowned.

Their parents are permanent residents here for the past 20 years.
